LIBERALS IN MALTA

For the first time in Malta we have a Liberal Party. It all began in May 2004 when a liberal political party was founded by Dr. John Zammit and Dr. Emmy Bezzina for the 12th June European Parliament Election.

Since 26th November 2006 the committee members decided to appoint Dr. John Zammit as leader, after Dr. Emmy Bezzina did not wish to continue the liberal party with Dr. John Zammit. Since then, the new liberal party by the name of Alleanza Liberal-Demokratika Malta which means Liberal Democratic Alliance Malta or in short ALDM has its own head office at Valletta, the capital city of Malta, has its own logo and flags, its own bank account and its own committee and the committee meets regularly not like before.

Now the liberal party of Malta is more organized under the leadership of Dr. John Zammit and there have been regular visits each year to the ELDR - the European Liberal Democratic Reform Parties in Brussels and also to LYMEC the Liberal Youths section of ELDR at the same address in Brussels.

We appeal to all Maltese and Gozitan Liberals to join us by contacting us at our head office in Valletta which is situated at 60A, Strait Street, Valletta VLT 1436, Malta. or by e-mail: jpzammit@di-ve.com.mt.
