ALLEANZA'S NEW FLAG

The flag of the Alleanza Liberal-Demokratika Malta is derived from the Maltese flag (white and red) the lighthouse, which as Malta and Gozo are surrounded by the sea the lighthouses are found in different areas and in stratigic places along the waterfront. It is also used by the Liberal International and as Malta has nearly always a blue sky and sea the badge/logo are very attractive, with as well as the lighthouse which is painted in white and red stripes resembling the tie of the Malta Labour Party childrens' brigade, shows that most of the members of the Malta Liberal Party were members of the Malta Labour Party who like in the United Kingdom left the Labour Party to fight for more liberal laws and freedoms. One can mention that most of the supporters of ALDM are 'Mintoffians' which means supporters of former Labour Prime Minister Dom Mintoff.
In Malta we cannot use the bird which is used by th ELDR or the UK's Lib Dems because it is used by the Maltese Hunters party. Although we have nothing against hunting, our policy is that hunting and the environement should go together. We in our party have a good number of hunters and we also believe that very few birds pass over tiny Malta and so we agree with the hunters that they can continue hunting in spring whilst we are in favour to have more trees and embelish our islands to enjoy a better environment.
